Marina Pravkina is a dance artist, choreographer, teacher, and curator of the Jazzbetween platform, based between Barcelona and Brussels.
Her artistic practice sits at the intersection of social dance (house, jazz, club dance) and contemporary performance. She acknowledges the Afro and Caribbean diasporic roots of these social dance forms, situating them in dialogue with her own heritage and migratory trajectory.
Her work develops hybrid choreographies that resist purity and categorisation, deconstructing and reconstructing rhythm, footwork, and sonic gesture as a choreographic language.
